ONLINE RETAILER ASKS SHOPPERS TO TIP WHEN ORDERING CLOTHING

DW: What's next? The website itself is gonna ask for maternity leave?

A tip request on an online shopping site has left one customer infuriated. The anonymous poster made the complaint on Reddit where they shared a screenshot from the website Gilgamesh.co which reportedly sells all things anime. The site’s plea said, “Just put the tip in, see how good it feels. Tips are distributed to our team in the form of bonuses every quarter. Never required but always appreciated.”

Many of the post’s commenters joined in the outrage over the request with one saying, “I’m not giving free money to you when inflation has taken so much of mine.” Turns out these angry customers aren’t alone. Nearly three quarters of people in the US say tipping is now expected way more compared to five years ago, according to a Pew Research Poll.
