DANCER DIAGNOSED WITH ALLERGY TO HER OWN TEARS

DW: Funny, I'm allergic to tears too. When other people cry it makes me angry.

A young dancer is struggling to do even basic things now that she’s developed an awful skin condition that makes her painfully allergic to her own sweat and tears and sweat. Summah Williams, 11, who lives in Australia, was hospitalized a year and a half ago after her skin started cracking and shedding. Williams was also constantly shivering in the heat and scratching at her skin all night. Summah is now in the trial phase of a new injection treatment called Dupixent, though she’s still struggling with facial pain.

It's not just this young tiny either. The Eczema Association of Australia says eczema impacts one-third of kids, with many saying the weather is the main culprit behind the flare-ups. Meanwhile, there’s no cure for eczema, dermatitis or psoriasis.
