MAN ON SICK LEAVE FOR 15 YEARS MAD HE NEVER GOT A PAY RAISE

DW: (note to self: let's give this a go here at the radio station...teehee)

That’s one way to earn a paycheck…A man in the UK who spent 15 years on sick leave from his job has sued his employer for not giving him a pay raise. Ian Clifford, who works for IBM, has been “off sick” since 2008, with a LinkedIn profile that says, “medically retired” after a reported bout with cancer.

In 2013, Clifford filed a grievance after receiving the same salary for five years. He and the company reached a “compromise agreement” where he was put onto the company’s disability plan. Because of this, he remained an employee with “no obligation to work”. Now, after raking in almost $2 million, Clifford is upset about the lack of raise again claiming, "The absence of an increase in salary is disability discrimination because it is less favorable treatment than afforded those not disabled.”
