While a recent report says that McDonald’s isn’t Hawaii’s favorite fast food franchise, but they did come out on top in one category: the state bought more Filet-O-Fish sandwiches in 2022 than any other according to a year-end wrap-up from McDonald’s. The state was also the top state per capita to use the restaurant’s app to place their orders.
The Filet-O-Fish isn’t in the top 10 most popular items sold at McDonald’s, but there’s one time of year when it jumps up the list: Lent. 23% of Filet-O-Fish’s sold happen during Lent, which makes sense; the sandwich was put onto the menu for observers of Lent in the first place.
