Study: Rats Have Rhythm And Like Music Like Lady Gaga And Queen

DW: I know this!!! Fievel Mousekewitz had MOVES!!

A recent study by researchers at the University of Tokyo says they’ve found that rats like music and even move their heads along with the rhythm. The researchers fitted 10 rats with wireless accelerometers to measure their head movement, and then played music including “Born This Way” by Lady Gaga, “Another One Bites The Dust” by Queen, and more.

The team says that rats preferred beats close to 120 beats per minute, which is similar to what humans enjoy, and their head movements decreased as the music sped up. Researchers say they hope to use these types of studies to “understand how the brain works.”
