A truck driver named David Platt recently left two $1,000 tips for Brenda Peterson, a waitress at 4-Star Diner in Roland.
The generous tips occurred on Mother's Day after Platt ordered a cheeseburger to go and returned an hour later for a slice of pie.
The two bills totaled $15.39.
Platt said money is "just numbers on a page" and he thought Pearson could use it more than he could.
She said the money was a godsend and intends to pay off bills.
