Coyotes Are Chasing Skiers At Idaho Resort And Experts Don’t Know Why

DW: Thank God I'm lazy!

Skiers in Sandpoint, Idaho have been dealing with more than just nasty falls. Several of them have reported being chased by coyotes on the slopes, with the Idaho Fish and Game Panhandle Region saying on Facebook that “One woman was chased into a tree well and had to fight the coyote off.”

There have also been several cases where skiers have been bitten, and it’s not normal behavior, especially since the incidents are happening during daytime hours and coyotes are nocturnal. Why are they doing this? Fish and Game’s theory is that the animals have become “habituated” to people.
