Butch Marion has been working 40-hour weeks as a Walmart cashier at the age of 82, but when Rory McCarty went through his line he took a quick video of Marion working and posted it to TikTok. That clip got millions of views, and McCarty set up a fundraiser to help Marion retire.
The fundraiser was an incredible success, raising over $118k for the Navy vet to retire. McCarty surprised him at work with a cashier’s check for the total after GoFundMe fees…$108,682. Marion said he’s going to pay off his bills and visit his daughters and grandchildren in Florida for the first time in years.
