The upcoming season of "Saturday Night Live" will be its 40th . . . and Ben & Jerry's is marking the occasion with two new flavors based on "SNL" skits.
There's Gilly's Catastrophic Crunch, based on the character played by KRISTEN WIIG. It's a combination of chocolate and sweet cream ice creams mixed with caramel clusters, chocolate-covered almonds and a marshmallow swirl.
Then there's Lazy Sunday, based on the ANDY SAMBERG / CHRIS PARNELL Digital Short of the same name. It's cake batter ice cream with chocolate and yellow cupcake pieces and a chocolate frosting swirl.
These are only available at Ben & Jerry's shops, so you won't find them at the grocery store. And two more "SNL" flavors are coming in the fall, when the new season premieres.
This isn't the first time Ben & Jerry's has released an "SNL" ice cream. Back in 2011 they unleashed Schweddy Balls, based on a sketch featuring Ana Gasteyer, Molly Shannon and guest star Alec Baldwin.
