Metallica have unveiled a slightly more official version of their new song "Lords of Summer."
Fan-recorded live versions of the track have been making their way around the Internet since the band debuted the song at a concert in Colombia this past Sunday. But now the metal vets have posted a studio recording dubbed the "garage demo version" on YouTube.
Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich recently told "Rolling Stone" that "Lords of Summer" is "fairly representative" of where their "creative headspace is at right now." He says it's a way to prove to fans that they're "writing and creating away," but admits that it may not actually end up on the band's long awaited follow-up to their last full-length album, 2008's Death Magnetic.
