The next Smashing Pumpkins album is one step closer to release. Billy Corgan announced on the band's website this week that he's done recording Monuments to an Elegy, with only the master mix remaining.
Corgan also clarifies that the making of the album wasn't as taxing as some people apparently thought. He says his frequent updates seemed to give fans the impression that this was a difficult album. But In fact, Corgan calls Monuments to an Elegy "one of the easiest and most pleasurable albums" he's ever made.
The follow-up to 2010's Oceania is expected to be released in 2015, while the first single is reportedly due out before the end of the year.
